J|FLOW: Jackson: Fixing Leaks and Overflowing Wastewater
J|FLOW is the name of our city's wastewater improvement program and is short for Jackson: Fixing Leaks and Overflowing Wastewater.
In March 2013, the U.S. District Court Approved an agreement negotiated between the Department of Justice, Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality, the Environmental Protection Agency, and City of Jackson to update the City's wastewater collection, transportation, and treatment facilities.
This program, now underway, will be completed over the next 17 years and will help assure the public's health and a safer environment. It will be paid for by a combination of ratepayer and government funds. Property owners will also be asked to pay their part in helping the City comply with the agreement.
